by
Michael Rogosa
, Friday, Apr 13, 2012
During RNG’s recent visit to Moscow, we stopped inside two stores indicative of the income disparity in the city and captured the key differences in store layout, on-shelf merchandising, and product availability. X5’s discount banner Pyaterochka appeals to the lower income shopper and presents a very bare-bones store experience while the upscale superette Azbuka Vkusa attracts the wealthiest Russian shoppers with a clean, well organized, and inviting store layout.

Selecto Super Chedraui: A Shopping Experience
Thursday, Apr 5, 2012
This Selecto Super Chedraui, a supermarket banner operated by the Grupo Comercial Chedraui, near Mexico City is well maintained and highly organized; the lack of off-shelf displays and relatively sparse signage contributes to the neat and organized feel of the store. The store features clearly defined departments with prominent overhead signage to direct shoppers within the store, and two in-store dining options.
