Starbucks Falls Short On US Seasonal Offerings While Global Growth Stalls

Despite a strong showing in China (LFL 6%), global coffee chain Starbucks only saw 2% growth systems-wide as value-centric offers from rivals like McDonald’s bit into its US market share. Starbucks also saw disappointing returns from its seasonal offers. It had expanded its holiday gifting range to include gadgets and games, but these fell flat with shoppers.
