Morrisons Q2 Update, Considering Exports To Thailand
UK Supermarket retailer Morrisons reported a 4.9% increase in group like-for-like sales excluding fuel for the first half of the year ended 5 August 2018. Total revenues for the half-year were up by 4.5% to GBP8.8 bn and second quarter sales rose by 6.3%. The retailer registered an underlying pre-tax profit of GBP193 million, an increase of 9%. The retailer also announced a bold step into foreign climes with a deal to supply Thailand’s Big C grocery store chain with a range of 100 of its own-branded products.
