Coty bolsters Chinese presence via Alibaba alliance
Coty has partnered with Alibaba with an aim of growing its presence in the Chinese market. The US beauty brand and the online giant are teaming up on interactive vending machines in malls across major Chinese cities, as well as on initiatives with beauty and hair salons. The partnership will also enable Coty to tap into Alibaba’s data on domestic consumers. Additionally, Coty will work with Alibaba’s product design division, the Tmall Innovation Center, to develop new products specifically for China.
