JCPenney reports 3% decline in holiday sales 2018
Department store retailer JCPenney has announced holiday season sales for the nine-week period ended on 5 January 2019. Comparable store sales decreased by 3.5%. The retailer is evaluating its store portfolio and plans to shut down three stores by spring 2019. The retailer also plans to assess the store locations which are underperforming or represent a market opportunity to capitalize on more beneficial real estate assets.
