McDonald’s global sales grow 5.4% in Q1
McDonald's has announced results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2019. Global comparable sales increased by 5.4%, reflecting strong comparable sales across all segments. Consolidated revenues decreased 4% (increased 2% in constant currencies), reflecting strong comparable sales, partly offset by the impact of the Company's strategic refranchising initiative.
In the US, Q1 comparable sales increased 4.5%, reflecting successful promotions, as well as a net positive impact from Experience of the Future deployment. In the International Operated segment, comparable sales increased 6.0%, reflecting positive results across all markets, primarily driven by the UK and France.
