Canadian Tire Q1 retail sales grow by 3.3%
Canadian Tire has released first quarter results for the period ended 30 March 2019. Consolidated retail sales increased by CAD91.2 million (USD71.22 million) or 3.3% in the first quarter. Excluding Petroleum, consolidated retail sales were up 6.3% over the same period last year.
The Canadian Tire banner saw retail sales increase by 7.4% and comparable sales were up 7.1%. SportChek's retail sales increased by 2.8% while comparable sales increased by 3.4%. Mark's retail sales grew 5.5% and comparable sales increased by 4.9%.
