Chinese ecommerce giant JD.com has closed its Australian branch office in Melbourne less than two years after it first opened. The move was seen at the time as a way to build better links between Australian and New Zealand suppliers and the China platform.

JD.com stated that going forward its Antipodean business would be integrated into its domestic management and that it would continue to enthusiastically promote brands from the region through its ecommerce offer.
